Dorothy Westlake
1921-2010
The Lord opened his
arms and took Dorothy to be joined again with her loving Raymond.
Dorothy was
also predeceased by her mother and father Jane (Cormier) and William
Lorrette,
sister and brother - in law Susan and Reuben Rector, brothers Ernest
and Wilfred
Lorrette. Also, by extended family members, Anthony Westlake survived
by his
wife Phyliss and family, and by Sharon (Westlake)
Cooke survived
by her
family.
Living a well rounded
life Dorothy played baseball with the Amherst Red Wings and with the
army when
she enlisted during WWII. You can see her in her uniform at the
Woman's Mural on
Prince Arthur St. Coming home she tried her hand at golf, joined the
Lady's
Auxiliary, bowled and worked many years at Pugsley's Pharmacy.
Although "Dotty"
became a friend to almost everyone she came in contact with, we must
give
special mention to Joanne Dobson, Judy Griffths, Betty Jardine, Dana
and Nancy
Richard and especially to her everyday phone buddy Theresa Burns.
These people
were counted among her most "Intimate" family. We would like
to thank John and
Beth Munroe and all the staff of Pugsley's Pharmacy for
their kindness and
watchful eyes over the years. "May God
Bless".
Dorothy leaves behind
Nancy
(Westlake)
and Edd Allen of Hamilton.
Following Dorothy's
wishes cremation has taken place with a private family interment.
Arrangements
have been entrusted to the care of the Furlong-Jones Funeral Home
